רשיון טייס מקנה לטייס זכות לטוס לכל מקום שירצה בחו"ל. טייסים רבים מתארגנים בקבוצות וטסים ביחד כדי להקטין את עליות הטיסה במטוס פרטי. טייס המעונין לטוס לחו"ל חייב להכיר נהלים בינלאומיים הקשורים, בין השאר, לדווחים המיועדים לענף התעופה, וקשורים למזג אוויר. לטובת הטייסים ישנו פורמט קבוע של מברקים מטאורולוגיה. אין צורך לזכור את הקיצורים בעל פה, משום שלפני כל טיסה לחו"ל אנחנו מקבלים משירות המטאורולגיה "חובקן" הכולל בנוסף למברק המטאורולגיה, גם רשימה של ראשי התיבות, הסימנים והמשמעות של כל אחד מהם. כל טייס יכול להכין לעצמו רשימה מתורגמת לעברית של המונחים, כך שאין צורך להתרגש מהעובדה שהקיצורים והמונחים הם באנגלית. המשמעות בעברית נלמדת ממילא במהלך קורס טיס אזרחי, ומוסברת על ידי מדריך הטיסה.
